چکیده
Fournier’s gangrene (FG) is a fulminant and lethal condition usually occurring in the immunocompromised, first described 1883 by French dermatologist Jean Alfred Fournier. It form of necrotizing fasciitis perineal, genitourinary perianal regions mostly males with mortality nearly 20-50%. surgical emergency requires early diagnosis aided scores such as laboratory risk indicator for necrotising (LRINEC) FG severity index (FGSI), extensive debridement combined supportive procedures to manage associated complications broad-spectrum antibiotics. Management thus required multimodal approach emphasis on reconstruction after recovery patients who survive was crucial improving quality life these patients. Here we were presenting 7 cases successfully managed at our institution, grouped under four methods which wound closure achieved: fecal diversion split skin grafting scrotum, urinary penoscrotal grafting, delayed primary (with without orchidectomy) healing secondary intention.

The typical infection can be due to a host of microbes, including gram positive, gram negative and anaerobic species including. Many of the causative organisms are found in the normal microbial flo...

Annals Academy of Medicine Dear Editor, Fournier’s gangrene is a surgical emergency. Treatment consists of fl uid resuscitation, intravenous broad spectrum antibiotics and immediate surgical consultation with a view for early wound debridement and drainage. A common problem of Fournier’s gangrene is the large defect that remains post-drainage. Many of these defects are treated with daily wound ...
متن کاملComparison of Primary Wound Closure with Vacuum Drainage and Delayed Closure in Perforated Appendicitis
Open wound managment after perforated appendicitis has been a common practice but recently, primary closure has been advocated to reduce costs and morbidity. For comparing delayed closures against primary closure with vacuum drainage, a randomized experimental study was designed. in Kerman. Sixty patients with perforated appendicitis divided randomly in two groups and evaluated on day of discha...
